As the bicentenary of Trafalgar approaches in 2005, Nelson seems constantly in the news. Discoveries of unpublished letters, and other fascinating material among his papers are challenging the traditional stories about his battles and relationships.

The John Warsop Annual Memorial Lecture is sponsored by the Friends of the Royal Naval Museum and HMS Victory, in memory of Rear Admiral John Warsop CB, a former Chairman of the Friends.
