We have a range of resources available to help schools find out more about the history and legacy of the Royal Navy.

Trails and Activity Sheets

Trails can be a great way to engage children and help them focus on exploring the museums collections. We have trails about topics such as:

  • Colour I Spy
  • Eating and Drinking
  • The Sailing Navy
  • Nelson
  • Science
  • Art

HMS Victory Loans Box

The loans box contains a range of replica artefacts, photographs and activity ideas to help your class find out  more about life on board HMS Victory.

The box can be used as a lead in or follow up to a visit to the Royal Naval Museum and HMS Victory but could also be useful if you are unable to visit the Dockyard and would like to offer your class a different way of learning about history.

To borrow the loans box at a special introductory rate of £10 for a fortnight please contact the Learning Department by emailing
