Children's Takeover Day!

During the summer term over 50 local children from Stamshaw Junior School found out what it takes to run a museum-and then spent a day in July in charge of the National Museum of the Royal Navy and HMS Victory.

Members of staff mentored the new recruits to help them understand more about their new jobs and support them in planning all their changes. On the day our new workers took over all aspects of the museum. They ran family activities, managed the shop, greeted visitors, kept an eye on security, ran guided tours of the museum and HMS Victory, organised an opening for the museum shop and even took on the role of director.

The children did an amazing job of running the museum-take a look at some photographs of the day to find out more!
