Schools and Teachers
From foundation stage to key stage 4 our schools programme offers fun, hands on learning opportunities, which make the most of the Museum’s excellent collection.
The programme includes everything from art workshops, storytelling, hands on activity sessions and role-play through to poetry, talks and study days.
Highlights include:
- A variety of hands-on, interactive workshops from foundation stage to key stage 4
- Discovery visits to our fascinating galleries covering 400 years of naval history
- Special workshops and associated learning resources to commemorate the abolition of the slave trade (including the Chasing Freedom teachers pack full of fascinating resources and activity ideas)
- A Tudor Exploration & Discovery workshop complete with ‘Discovery Boxes’ giving pupils the chance to investigate naval exploration and different cultures
- Special events and workshops based on Remembrance
- Sea Your World Early Years Week
- A wealth of extra resources including gallery trails, teachers’ packs, image archives and much more
