We invite you to 'meet'
the Royal Naval Museum and the Mary Rose

The theme of Museums Month 2001 is to meet the curators and other staff of museums and their collections. Throughout May, there will be weekday talks/tours at the Royal Naval Museum and weekend activities at the Mary Rose.

Royal Naval Museum

A series of FREE lunchtime talks and tours covering the Museum's many activities. All talks and tours start at 12.30 pm and finish at 1.15 pm. Please meet at the entrance to the Museum's Nelson and Sailing Navy Galleries within Storehouse No 11 (close to HMS Victory)

Mary Rose

Weekend activities bringing alive life onboard a Tudor warship. Museum tickets required.


WEEK 1 at The Royal Naval Museum

The experts will be on hand at the Mary Rose Museum to answer your questions and you may meet one of the team who dived on the wreck.

Meet a Tudor Archer in the Mary Rose Museum and watch the Arrowsmith work at his forge.

Saturday 19th - Sunday 20th May : Firepower! Meet the Gunner and the Archer at the Mary Rose

Talk to them both at the Mary Rose Museum and decide for yourself who was the more effective soldier at sea.

Come and see a major naval engagement re-enacted in miniature.
