Volunteering opportunities

Do you have an interest in local or naval history, enjoy arts and crafts, a keen researcher or just have a little time to give? Here at the Museum we value and appreciate the commitment our volunteers can offer in assisting with our development.

Opportunities are varied such as helping within our Curatorial Department that can offer research and artefact conservation to helping open up the wonders of Museums to new audiences (including schools, colleges and universities) with our Learning Department.

If you want to develop or share your skills then why not become a volunteer.

For more information on our current opportunities please contact Alice Roberts, Volunteer Coordinator on 02392 727591 or email

Friends of the Museum

If you are a Friend of the Museum member and have an interest in volunteering please contact our Friends Volunteer Coordinator, Mr David Baynes on 02392 831461 for further information.
