Memorial plaque dedicated to the memory of officers, seamen and Royal Marines killed and wounded fighting at Lagos, West Coast of Africa, 1851 including men from HMS Penelope who were heavily involved in action to reinstall Oba Akitoye, the anti-slavery monarch who tried in 1841 to bring an end to slave trading, to the throne of Lagos.
