Do you want to be a Community Curator?

Do you live in Portsmouth and want to know more about the history of your local area, the Royal Navy and the Dockyard?

If you said yes then we want to help you become a Communtiy Curator! This is a brand new community outreach project linked to Sea Your History, the Museum's exciting online archive project.

The aim is to encourage local people to investigate their locality, its links to the Royal Navy and role in Portsmouth’s maritime history. After training sessions with professional Museum staff, volunteers will produce their own community project which will be included on the website along with lesson plans and guidance notes on how to become a community curator. It could be an exhibition, an artwork, a guided tour or even a radio show - the sky's the limit!

For more information about becoming a community curator or for further details of the Sea Your History project contact the Learning Team by email or by calling 023 9272 7584.
