Hands on sessions

Schools and Teachers

Learning at the Royal Naval Museum is designed to be “hands on” and "evidence based” with full use made of the Museum's excellent collection. All our workshops involve groups actively and link directly to the National Curriculum.

From Foundation stage to Key Stage 4, there is a choice of workshops, trails and learning resources. The programme includes everything from art sessions, storytelling, hands on activity sessions and role-play through to talks and study days to support learners of all ages.

Highlights include:

A brand new programme of taught workshops, archive access sessions, activity sheets and trails

  • Interactive workshops for all from foundation stage to key stage 4
  • Special workshops to commemorate the abolition of the slave trade and learning resources
  • Art workshops led by professional artists
  • Sea Your World Early Years Week
  • World Discovery Week, 2008
